Metallic epoxy is the floor people stop and ask about: a seamless, high-gloss surface that looks like poured marble or liquid metal. It’s one of our most requested finishes in Miami homes, offices, barbershops and showrooms. Here’s what it actually costs and why.
The quick number
Our metallic marble epoxy floors start from $9 per square foot for typical Miami-Dade and Broward projects. Multi-color marble designs, custom patterns and commercial floors are quoted on site.
For a sense of scale: a 400 sq ft living area starts around $3,600, and a 1,000 sq ft open space starts around $9,000. Your fixed price depends on the factors below.
What moves the price
1. The condition of the concrete. Metallic epoxy goes over concrete. If there’s old tile, glue or a failed coating, it has to come off first and the slab may need leveling. Bare, sound concrete is the cheapest starting point.
2. Prep. Every floor is diamond-ground, cracks are repaired and the surface is primed. Skipping this is how cheap floors end up peeling.
3. Design complexity. One base color with one metallic swirl is the simplest. Multi-color marble veining, borders or logos take more material and time.
4. Square footage. Small rooms cost more per foot because setup, grinding and mixing take about the same time whether the room is 150 or 500 sq ft.
5. Topcoat. We finish with a clear high-gloss topcoat for scratch resistance. Commercial floors with heavy traffic may need a tougher system.
Metallic epoxy vs tile or LVP
| Metallic epoxy | Porcelain tile | LVP | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Look | Seamless, one of a kind | Grout lines | Plank pattern |
| Water | Waterproof surface | Waterproof tile, porous grout | Waterproof |
| Install | Over concrete | Over most subfloors | Over most subfloors |
| Starting price (ours) | $9 / sq ft | $6 / sq ft | $2.50 / sq ft |
Metallic isn’t the cheapest floor, but there’s nothing else that looks like it, and there are no grout lines to clean.
Where it works best
- Living rooms and open-plan spaces on ground-floor concrete slabs
- Barbershops, salons and retail where the floor is part of the brand
- Offices and showrooms that want a high-end look without stone prices
- Garages for owners who want a showroom finish
It’s usually not a fit over wood subfloors, or in condos where the building limits work with strong odors. We check this before quoting.
How long it takes
Most residential metallic floors take 3 to 4 days: prep and priming, base coat, the metallic pour, and the topcoat. You’ll get exact cure times before furniture goes back.
