What makes a paint job last

Good paint jobs are mostly prep

The difference between an average and a professional paint job is not visible on day one. It shows up a year later as flashing patches, cracked caulk and fuzzy edges, or it does not.

We fill and sand nail holes and cracks, caulk trim, prime repairs and stains, and cut lines by hand. Older plaster walls in Riverside and San Marco get repaired properly before paint, not just covered over.

Outside, coastal sun and salt air are tough on paint, so we wash, scrape, prime and use exterior coatings made for it on stucco, siding, trim and doors.

Every painting job includes

  • Furniture moved and covered, floors masked
  • Nail holes, dents and cracks filled and sanded
  • Caulking of trim and baseboard joints
  • Spot-priming of repairs and stains
  • Two finish coats, hand-cut lines, final touch-up walk
